Orientation to Cave Rescue October 2005

The Northeastern Region of the NCRC will be sponsoring a Weekend Orientation to Cave Rescue seminar in October of 2005.

This will be in Scoharie County New York.

Cost is $40.- This covers classes, coffee break, lunches and use of equipment from the NCRC equipment cache.

Class begins promptly with check-in at 8:00 AM Saturday morning.

Saturday

Saturday involves both classroom work and hands-on practice.

Topics include but are not limited to:

Incident Command Structure
Cave Safety
Horizontal and Vertical Cave Gear
Patient Packaging
Patient Transport
Communications

Saturday classwork concludes at approximately 6:30 with dinner following at 7:00 PM

Sunday

Training resumes at 8:00 AM with a pre-Mock Briefing.

After the briefing is a Mock Cave Rescue where lessons learned on Saturday are practiced in a real cave environment.

Following the completion of the Mock will be a debriefing and a clean-up.
